Educational Initiatives of BRCM Education Society
Ballaram Hanumandas Charitable Trust, Kolkata (BHCT), founded in the year 1977 is headed by Shri Hari Krishna Chaudhary. The Trust is set up with an objective of transforming the much deprived rural area surrounding the Chaudhary family’s ancestral village Bahal (district Bhiwani), in Haryana, 30 km north of Pilani.
BHCT undertakes a number of welfare programs aimed at improving the quality of life of communities in and around Bahal, actively contributing towards the conservation of public parks, holy places & playgrounds, providing affordable tertiary health care facilities, conducting special eye care and general health check-up camps, spreading environmental awareness by facilitating major tree plantation drives, promoting use of new & renewable energy, spreading awareness about water conservation & rain water harvesting.
As responsible citizens, the founders of BHCT firmly believed that providing quality education will result in overall growth of this region. A small but visionary effort has now turned this remote village into an Oasis of Learning spread over 100 acres in three different Campuses. BHCT heralded its educational initiatives through BRCM Education Society which celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the year 2012 and has entered into 28th year of journey towards excellence in Education.
The education society established BRCM Public School, Gyankunj, in 1987, catering to the need for high-quality English-medium schooling, for around 100 villages surrounding Bahal.
Subsequently, BRCM Public School, Vidyagram, a premier co-education Residential School, from class IV to XII, was established to provide all round development of students in a boarding set up. The School affiliated to CBSE, is a member of the Indian Public Schools’ Conference (IPSC) and winner of International School Award by British Council. A Corner Stage of our enduring Success through Nanhe Kadam
BRHD Charitable Trust have scaled up the initiative to provide free yet holistic education to the children of Bahal by starting a free School for underprivileged section of Society in the name of “NANHE KADAM”. Nanhe Kadam is the initiative taken by Sh. H.K. Chaudhary, Chairman, BRHD Charitable Trust that lays the foundation for the underprivileged to succeed in later life, for without essential education may never get a chance to break out of their circumstances and life style. “Nanhe Kadam” started in the year 2010 at BRCM Public School, Gyankunj and now the number has touched the mark of 275. Initially parents and the community were to be convinced hard to send their children to “Nanhe Kadam” but gradually the efforts and the result paid off. In most cases the children are the first generation learners, but the quality education provided at Nanhe Kadam motivated the economically weaker section of Bahal to send their children in Nanhe Kadam. It took the half of the team of efficient and dedicated teachers who are volunteering to look after the needs of these students and at same time making teaching learning process synchronised with their own schools of English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, etc.
Students enjoy the basic learning as well as actively take part in different co-curricular activities like Arts, Computers, Dance and Music etc. It is very thrilling to see them actualizing their innate talents, when provided proper platform. They are learning fast to become Singer, Artist, and Computer literate and above all a good citizen.
It is mainly from class LKG to VIII and the education given to them is designed in such a way as to make up for the deficiencies and disadvantages in the individual learning experiences, planned to provide equal opportunity for the children born underprivileged section of Society.
The BRHD Charitable Trust provides free stationery, Books, School Bags, Uniforms, Tiffin and other modern teaching learning facilities and infrastructure to all students with the aim to improve the intellectual and academic abilities so that these underprivileged children can come into the main stream of Society.
